Tickets Sold Out For The Boys Are Back In Town
MotoGP rolls back into the US this weekend for the first time since 1994, with 4 American riders; Colin Edwards, Nicky Hayden, John Hopkins and Kenny Roberts in the ranks. Both Nicky Hayden and Colin Edwards are in the top ten and will be looking for a win to cement their contender status in the World Championship.
John Hopkins and Kenny Roberts will also be chasing hard in their hometown race to garner more points and move up the ladder. Unlike many of the current riders in Motogp, all of the American riders are familiar with the track and it's infamous Corkscrew corner.
Don't bargain on them winning though, as they still have to battle seasoned campaigners such as Rossi, Biaggi and Melandri who won't let go without a fight. Extra practice time gives these riders a chance to familiarise themselves with the track and form a strategy to counteract the Americans advantage on home soil. Rossi's ready adaptability to the unknown should also see his Yamaha at the forefront, Yamaha riders have managed to win 5 out of 6 races at Laguna Seca in the past. Max Biaggi, after a disastrous weekend at Assen is looking for a win to put him back on track.
125cc & 250cc support races will not be held for this event, instead Support races will be held by the AMA SuperbikesChampionship,Repsol Superstock Series and Pro Honda Oils Supersport with a Superstars of Super Karts race featuring racing legends Wayne Rainey,Kevin Schwantz & Eddie Lawson.
