Will the Roman Emperor become a Ninja?
Max Biaggi has consistently been in the top 5, since his MotoGP debut in 1998. We hear a lot from the commentators about who should retire and allow new blood into the Premiere class. Personally, I believe that if the rider is performing well, with a solid fan base there should be no reason for them to retire. That's like saying Valentino Rossi should retire because he's been at the top for too many seasons and should move over. Of course not, because he's got a strong fan base with sponsorship and is good for the sport.

Max has all of these positives as well. Although he may not appear to be as personable as Valentino Rossi, he brings an element of surprise and tenaciousness to MotoGP. You can always be assured that Max will do his best at each race and not give up. Call me naive, but I really do think Max is still good for MotoGP and it won't be as interesting without him there.

Of course though, many other factors come into play, as in many other sports, sponsorship money and alliances have their say in who is signed or not. I think talent should count for more though, not less, and personality should not be in the equation.

I could say who I think has a lesser chance of winning anything next year, he still got a ride for 2006 though and that's my opinion based on long time previous performances not personality. I have never heard anyone nominate that rider to retire though.

So, will we see a Yellow Kawasaki running next year? I hope so.
